Mouse Full Length Clones (FANTOM - Riken)

We offer RIKEN Mouse FANTOM™ Clones for use to the research community. The Mouse FANTOM™ (Functional Annotation Of Mouse) clone sets were created in Dr. Hayashizaki's lab at the RIKEN Genome Science Laboratory to clone and sequence full-length cDNAs for all genes expressed in mouse.

*The sequences are bioinformatically analysed and identified as either containing the full coding sequence (cds) or only containing part of the coding sequence. PLEASE NOTE however that this information may not reflect the most recent annotation of the reference sequence and you should carefully check the clone insert sequence shown on NCBI (using the accession number link on GenomeCube) to make sure that it matches the sequence you expect.

 

Three RIKEN Mouse FANTOM™ Clone Sets are available which are provided as glycerol stocks in 384-well plates:

FANTOM™ 1 set: About 21,000 full-length sequenced cDNA clones from mouse.
FANTOM™ 2 set: About 60,000 full-length sequenced cDNA clones from mouse.
FANTOM™ 3 set: About 102,000 full-length sequenced cDNA clones from mouse.
FANTOM™ 2 new set: About 40,000 full-length sequenced cDNA clones Sets not contained in FANTOM™ 1 set (FANTOM 2 Set minus FANTOM 1 Set).
FANTOM™ 3 New set: About 40,000 full-length sequenced cDNA clones Sets not contained in FANTOM™ 1 Set (FANTOM 3 Set minus FANTOM 2 Set).

Source BioScience offers the complete clone set of 310 bar-coded 384-well microtitre plates or individual clones, for research purposes only. We can also make subsets of your chosen clones from the collection.

Protocols / Clone Handling

Plates contain LB broth with 8% glycerol and ampicillin. The plates are sent on Dry Ice, and should be stored at -70°C.

Individual clones have been streaked onto LB agar containing ampicillin (100 g/ml). Please store them at 4°C (not in a freezer).

As soon as possible, transfer the culture to LB broth containing ampicillin + 8% glycerol and incubate overnight at 37°C (do not try to transfer single colonies, instead scoop out the whole bacterial culture using a disposable inoculation loop).

Incubate overnight at 37°C for subsequent freezing at -70°C.
